Renting a boat on St. John is a pleasure in itself – you get to enjoy gentle waves, dazzling views and the deep-body relaxation that comes with a day on the ocean.

But the sights of St. John are just as alluring as the experience of getting there, which is why we spend so much time talking about Solomon Bay, Waterlemon Cay, Honeymoon Bay and all the rest.

We’re not the only ones. The Huffington Post has listed the Underwater Trail among its Top Ten Underwater Adventures in the World, coming in at number 4 with this glowing description:

Just north of Buck Island snorkelers will find the National Park Underwater trail, guiding visitors around the reef with underwater marker signs. After indulging in the white-sand beaches, head out for a dip in the crystal-clear Caribbean water for a unique diving experience. Along the way you’ll see elkhorn coral, coral grottos, reef sharks, endangered Leatherback turtles, spotted eagle rays, and more than 250 species of tropical fish, including Parrotfish, angelfish, and blue tangs.

The best way to see the waters of the Caribbean, and what lies beneath them, is to rent a boat in the Virgin Islands. Start with Sonic Charters and you can’t go wrong.
