A small group of St. John residents saved Haulover Bay from development, and now it has been successfully transferred to the National Park Service. […] It took some time after the purchase of the land to deal with the bureaucracies of the federal park system, but the land was officially transferred several months ago, according to Mercadante.
“We feel it’s really in good hands now,” she said.
