One of the fun things about running a boat rental company that serves St. John and its sister islands is that the landscapes we visit are constantly changing. Case in point: this whimsical display of art on the beaches of Drunk Bay:
On St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands, a relatively new tradition of temporary art has been born.
Visitors to Drunk Bay on the island’s southeastern coast have been using the windswept beach as a gallery of sorts for a constantly changing “exhibit” of artworks made with items found along the rocky shore.
Almost certainly the handiwork of bored locals, the artworks nonetheless underscore the fact that every beach in St. John is worth savoring and enjoying. And if the creative urge arises, who’s going to stop you?
