Dreaming of a summer escapade? Virgin Gorda is the perfect place to get away from it all.  Located in the British Virgin Islands, this remote paradise boasts solitary coasts, quiet grottos, and luxury villas. Charter a boat and whisk away to each of these destinations in the near-mythical enchantment that is Virgin Gorda.

Overnight Stay in Luxury Villas

Virgin Gorda is best enjoyed when you have time to linger. Why not get away for more than a few hours and stay overnight in a lovely villa. Sundowner has its own private plunge pool and a deck with a barbecue. It’s located just a few steps away from the beach at Nail Bay, so you can start each morning with a refreshing swim, superb snorkeling, or walk on the beach. Or stay overnight in a stunning hillside location at Seaglass Villa, and enjoy beautiful ocean views and sunset swims in the plunge pool. Guavaberry Spring Bay is another place offering cottages and villas that make for a romantic getaway.

Dine in Style

Treat yourself to gourmet dining at Sugarcane Restaurant at Nail Bay Resort. Sugarcane looks out over the Sir Francis Drake Channel and serves mouthwatering offerings including steak, lobster, and cocktails. Enjoy the upscale atmosphere and sit at the bar, have a drink poolside, or enjoy the views looking out toward Tortola.

Or go casual and stop in at Hog Heaven. Hog Heaven features barbecued perfection paired with ice cold beer, all perched atop the hill above Leverick Bay.

Hungry for a burger and drinks? Stop in for breezy sunset drinks right on the bay at Mermaids and Pirates. Located in Spanish Town, Mermaid’s serves great burgers and seafood.

CocoMaya is another place to put at the top of your list. It’s an elegant atmosphere, with seating right on the beach. Enjoy drinks and sushi, followed by duck, steak, or fish tacos.

More to Do on Virgin Gorda

Be sure to head to Savannah Bay for a quiet day in the perfect environment. It’s calm, serene, and austere –  and feels a lot like stepping into a travel magazine. There’s a pretty good chance you’ll get the beach to yourself here. Just be advised that there are no amenities, so you’ll need to plan accordingly. The soft, white sand is perfect for walking barefoot or just relaxing. The clear blue water is reasonably shallow for a long stretch, making for fun, relaxing play for both kids and adults. And the gorgeous reefs offer the best snorkeling on the island, with fantastic sea turtle, coral, and fish sightings.
